The Whitestown Police & Fire Departments have jointly developed a Public Safety CADET Program for young people between the ages of thirteen and eighteen years of age and who are still in enrolled in High School. This course is designed to give young people who have a desired interest in learning what it takes to work in the different Public Safety disciplines, (Police/FIRE & EMS).


This course is designed around both classroom and hands on instruction and is embedded with rich traditions and history of both law enforcement and the Fire Service.CADETS will train in all disciplines of law enforcement as well as the fire service. This will include firearms, hose streams, defensive Tactics, ladders, interview and report writing, fire extinguishers, traffic enforcement and vehicle crash investigation, protective gear and air packs, Basic emergency medical care and CPR and much, much more.CADETS will be exposed to the very fabric that molds todays public safety professionals and guides our everyday way of life, Honesty, Integrity, Fairness, Impartiality, Appearance, Performance, Behavior and Conduct just to name a few.


This course will strive to bring out the leadership potential in each CADET and continue to build upon that potential.If you are up for a challenging, structured and yet very rewarding program, and are thirteen or about to turn thirteen or up to eighteen and still in High School we would welcome you to apply to become a Whitestown Public Safety CADET.
